Last week I took the posters I have printed and made a few collages on my storages boxes. I thought it would look cool to make furniture with ripped up, street poster like collages covering the surfaces. I really like the way it turned out. I found some cool bookstores downtown that sell old 50's Saturday Evening Post mags so I took some cheesy ads and included them. Also found some flower pattern gift wrap at Honest Ed's for a buck. I am gonna do a whole table next and see how it turns out. I will tackle that once I have more posters made so it doesn't look exactly like the boxes.
I almost have my box design finished - I just want to throw on a few small details because I am noticing how packed with detail toy packaging is. There is definitely an art to it and it takes more time then I imagined. I thought I would just throw something together but now I am really getting into it and making something I actually appreciate. I haven't posted a final pic of my snowman so I'll do that. If you read this Andrew: could I use that spray you had on Monday? I wouldn't mind giving it a coat on Monday when I hand it in. It looked like great stuff.
In other news, today I got mugged in broad daylight just off campus in The Village. This black guy bikes up to me with a black bandanna over his mouth and tells me not to move and says that he's serious. He said I better give him my money and my cell phone or he'll "cut my face off" as he shuffled in his coat. I told him that I don't have anything and showed him an empty wallet. He pulled my shirt and said he wants my cell phone or whatever I've got. I said I don't have a cell phone and shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't worried cause I didn't have anything. Still holding me by the shirt he tosses me away like a piece of trash and tells me to get the fuck outta here then. As he biked away he told me I best not call the cops - I did and it was a big mistake. I just wanted to inform people that that was going on so nobody got hurt but 3 cruisers and 5 cops showed up at my apartment to take my statement. I wanted to tell them to get the hell out of here and go find the guy. He apparently robbed a girl in my building too. So that pretty much was my whole day. After the cops left I went to school and there was no class so basically I could have stayed at home all day and avoided this whole mess. Oh well. Good times I guess. The lowlife asshole didn't get anything from me. Glad I didn;t have my Macbook or Nikon D40. That would have sucked real bad. Sorry, no pics of the event!
